Kumasi Asante Kotoko paid a courtesy visit on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu on Tuesday to seek his blessings ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco.
The club hierarchy alongside players and technical staff visited the revered Islamic leader at his residence in Accra to tap into his eminence divine blessing.
Sheikh Sharubutu offered prayers for the club’s success and implored them to approach the game with discipline, unity and humility.
CAF declined the Porcupine Warriors’ request to host Wydad at the Baba Yara Stadium — Instead they will slug it out with the Moroccans at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 19.
Wydad will be a tough opponent for the Ghana Premier League giants who are unbeaten this season. They defeated Kwara United of Nigeria 5-3 on aggregate ahead of this weekend crucial fixture.
